At least 50 people have been involved in making wor diary. Some researched local archives, some drew pages, some fetched and carried, collated, numbered and spread the word.

Wor Diary is a DIY project, involving no professionals and lots of accessible tools, such as pens, pritt sticks and books. A little of how it was made is shown in the photo's below. You could do it too - so why not make a 2009 diary for YOUR neighbourhood, that unearths forgotten histories that helped make the streets you live in. We claim no ownership of this project, it is not done for money, it received no arts grants or sponsorship. It was just a big messy human thing of enthusiasm, spare time, and spreading the word around people we know. Then they spread the word and so on and so on until now we don't even know how many people exactly contributed. But THANKYOU!

The North East has a proud history of challenging authority and injustice but history gets forgotten. We decided to publish our own diary and every day recall events in North East history to help us be inspired to change our lives and surroundings. Each page is drawn by local people, amateurs all, who now number close to sixty odd people Everybody connected to the diary does so as an unpaid enthusiast.
