In its fourth year of production, and having previously addressed the International Anti-Fascist Struggle, and the worlds of the Radical Arts and Prisoner Support movements, the 2016 edition tackles the subject of revolutionary change. It covers the whole gamut of the history of political insurrection, revolt and revolution across the centuries, with special features on events as far afield as Argentina (Patagonia Rebelde) and China (Wuhan Incident ) or The Year of European Revolutions - 1848 - and the 1975 Portuguese Golpe de 25 de Novembro, taking in along the way the appearance of the first Red Flag as a revolutionary symbol (the Merthyr Rising in 1831), the Peasant’s Revolt of 1381, the Walloon Jacquerie, the various French Communes, the Mexican Revolution, the Russian Revolutions of 1905 and 1917, and the 1944 Dekemvriana in Greece, via visits to Macedonia, Korea, Chile, China and Australia.

There are times when change can simply not be achieved by making your mark on a piece of paper and other methods must be employed.” The Bottled Wasp project is a not-for-profit fundraiser, with all profits from the diaries going to organisations and charities working with prisoners, in particular the Anarchist Black Cross network.
