"Everybody keep saying violence is not the answer but CANT TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK THE REAL ANSWER IS!"

"I feel bad for the ppl who lost their jobs bc of the CVS but I feel worse for ppl who lost their family bc of police brutality."

"I honestly don't like how people that's not from Baltimore.. Have SO MUCH TO SAY!!"

"Shit real in Baltimore everyday, only difference last couple days the world got to see."

First published as a zine in the wake of the Baltimore Uprising, this small book is packed with tweets from Baltimore teens sounding off on the death of Freddie Gray in police custody and the unrest in the days that followed. These tweets tell a story that the mainstream media chose to ignore; these voices deserve to be heard. A portion of sales will be donated to the Baltimore Algebra Project, a youth-led organization.

"These tweets counter "proper" media that for the most part totally screwed up its coverage and the kids' candor is refreshing in the face of so much useless journalistic "objectivity." It makes a case for teens—you know, kids not all that different from the ones who were stuck at Mondawmin because the buses all got shut down and then were confronted with police in riot gear—as a significant political voice during the uprising. The ways in which teens tweak and manipulate Twitter's limitations is inspiring and arguably revolutionary. With 140 characters and an image cribbed from some corner of the internet or a well-chosen iPhone emoji (itself a political act, given that until recently there were only white emoji), they challenge the prevailing narrative of the uprising." —Baltimore City Paper
