These essays expose the underlying opposition between democracy and the freedom of individuals to create their own lives as they see fit. At present, capitalism and the sociopolitical system that best corresponds with it — democracy — dominate the planet. They undermine real choice, creativity and self-activity — all that is necessary for individuals to be able to create their lives as they desire and for the exploited to be able to rise up intelligently against their exploitation. For this reason, it is necessary that those of us who want to make our lives our own start attacking this system in all of its aspects in order to destroy it.
