Description
Kneißl was regarded during his lifetime as a national hero. The people, especially the small farmers and Gütler saw in his predatory life something revolutionary, a rebellion against authority. It emerged as satirical poems and songs as the Kneißl- ballad that from Kiem Pauli was set to music.
