Description
“Execution” of the Sacred Heart by a Republican firing squad is a famous example of “an assault on the public presence of Catholicism”. The image was originally published in the London Daily Mail with a caption noting the “Spanish Reds’ war on religion”.
Personally I beieve churches should be occupied and used as venues for punk rock concerts and homeless refugees rather than burnt down, but executing religous icons and stautues is a wonderful idea (if a little showy!)
