This is our second published collection  with Active Distribution, hand-picked by the collective members, to give a flavour of the posters that were produced during the 1968 uprising in Paris.
During the uprising workers and students would come to the Atelier Populaire in the occupied School of Fine Arts with ideas for poster designs – they would be discussed in the context of the day’s events in a General Assembly before deciding whether to print them.
The posters, alongside a wave of radical graffiti, flooded the streets with their trademark simplicity.
Quick and easy to produce, the posters perfectly captured the zeitgeist with messages of hope and resistance. They have stood the test of time.
